The Northeastern United States, also known as the Northeast Region or simply Northeast, is one of four census regions defined by the U.S. Census Bureau, comprising 9 states across two divisions: New England (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont) and Middle Atlantic (New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania).
